Since the return of my Varian and the Seven Kingdoms hyperfixation in mid-March, I have been slowly chipping away at a VAT7K animatic alongside my uni coursework. It is currently nowhere near finished, but since classes resume in a week (I've been on break), I figured that I'd share bits and pieces of what I've been working on.

The animatic I'm working on is to the song 'Beyond' by Danielle Keiko Eyer, who if you aren't familiar with, is an absolute GODSEND to the VAT7K fandom. She has a collection of 20-ish full fansongs for VAT7K, and they're all amazing. I've been a big fan of her work for years, and have been wanting to create animatics to her songs since they came out. Actually, fun fact, I did start an animatic to her song 'There is a Darkness' back in late 2022 (I was 14), but I lost motivation and never got around to finishing it. Outside of my current uni work, this is the first time I've consistently worked on an animatic in years, and I'm super proud of the work I've put into it so far. I'm gonna be so sad if I don't get around to finishing it.

Anyways, here's some screenshots from the animatic so far!



This is actually one of the first shots of the animatic - Ulla and Donella as kids!



This one is a background I did for the Dark Kingdom segment (the 2nd verse and chorus). You can see the storyboard in the background!



This shot is from the third verse, and it's meant to be of Ulla's notes. I made up the map in this one on the fly.

So that's what I have to show right now. Obviously there is so much more, but I don't want to spoil the whole thing. I do want to colour it once I finish drawing the whole thing, but judging by my insane workload from last trimester, I don't know if I'll have the time to do so once I get back to school. Either way, I want to finish this at a quality that I can be happy with.
